Experience
Carol Hedin is an artist from Bloomington, Indiana.
Carol is best known for her cut paper designs sealed in epoxy and acrylic pour landscapes and flowers. Carol has recently been exploring making butterfly wing epoxy jewelry (Currently available for sale at the Farm Stop Collective in Bloomington, Indiana). She makes tables, wall art, light switch plates and jewelry. Carol creates with paint, paper, feathers, sand, butterfly wings, epoxy and other miscellaneous materials.
Carol has created banners for Lotus World Arts & Music Festival, designed a large 3-D brain for the Brain Extravaganza in Bloomington, designed large outdoor murals for the Bloomington Creative Glass Center, and designed art-apparel for the Trashion Refashion show (an annual fundraiser for the Center for Sustainable Living).
Carol has experience in making a variety of custom furniture, wall art, and custom stained glass. For over twenty years Carol has displayed her artwork in galleries and participated in fine art shows and events. She owned and operated Sublime Design, Inc. for 20 years, creating over 300 one-of-a-kind custom pieces for individuals and businesses in Bloomington and beyond. At one time, she also owned and operated her own art gallery on Kirkwood Avenue in a large purple Victorian house.
Style
My work is inspired by juxtapositions of color, nature, landscapes, and movement. I strive to create pieces that are both visually stunning and calming.
Process
I begin each piece with a vision in mind, but allow the materials and my intuition to guide me as I work. No two pieces are the same or could ever be replicated the same.
